As Second Vice President, Dominique desires to serve IYFC by helping create meaningful opportunities for young people to grow spiritually, develop as leaders, build lasting relationships, and discover the gifts God has placed within them. He believes youth ministry should not only provide young people with a place to participate, but also equip them to serve, lead, and make an impact in their churches, communities, and beyond

Elder Dominique Wilkes was born on July 12, 1990, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Robert Wilkes Jr. and Sis. Robin Wilkes. At the age of eight, he was baptized in the name of Jesus at Refuge Way of the Cross Church of Christ Inc. Raised by a God-fearing mother who never stopped reminding him of God’s goodness, Elder Wilkes rededicated his life to God in 2013.

On the morning of Saturday, March 25, 2017, Elder Wilkes received the gift of the Holy Ghost. With a deep desire to know God and understand His eternal Word, he continued to dive deeper into the Scriptures, strengthening his relationship with God and growing in his faith. Elder Wilkes received his foundational spiritual training under Apostle Leroy H. Cannady Sr. and continues his spiritual development under Bishop Troy A. Barnett, who took up the mantle of Pastor of Refuge Way of the Cross.

Elder Wilkes has been married to Lady Shameka O. Wilkes since June 2014. Together, they are the proud parents of two wonderful children, Brooke and Javion Wilkes. Throughout his journey, Elder Wilkes has learned to trust and depend on God for every area of his life. As stated in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Knowing that God’s thoughts toward him are good and that God will bring him to an expected end, Elder Wilkes has accepted the call to preach and teach the Word of God to a dying generation.
