Dr. Sherina Travis serves as President of the International Youth For Christ and is the first woman elected to serve in this role. Prior to her election as President, she served for seven years as Second Vice President. She is a member of City of Refuge Way of the Cross Church in the Virginia Diocese under the leadership of Bishop Travell Travis, Esq.

Sherina’s history with IYFC spans many years and includes serving with the Registration Team, as Recreation Coordinator, playwright and director, Daughters of Destiny Chair, Scholarship Chair, and an Essay and Oratorical Contest judge. She has also served as a local Youth for Christ President.

An educator by profession, Sherina holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a master’s degree in Mathematics Education, an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership. She is also certified in K–12 Administration and Supervision and has served as a teacher, teacher mentor, and instructional coach.

Sherina is passionate about seeing young people authentically live for God while becoming everything God has called them to be. She wants young people to know that they can be saved and educated, live for God and lead in the world, and still have fun. She believes transparency matters and that young people need leaders who are willing to show them what living for God looks like in everyday life.

A true Philly girl at heart, Sherina loves a good laugh, good food, her family, traveling, sports, and trying new adventures, even if that means exploring on foot or going solo. Some may even call her “Dora the Explorer.” She and her husband have three daughters, and family is an important part of her life. She loves sports, especially football and is a proud Eagles fan, GO BIRDS! Two scriptures that speak to her life and leadership are Philippians 4:13 and the charge to “seek to excel” found in I Corinthians 14:12.
